HOW TO REPAIR LOUBOUTIN SHOES

We hear the desperate cries daily of Christian Louboutin owners who are aghast at the speed in which their beloved red soles begin to look old and tired. Therefore, here we share some trade secrets of how you can repair your Louboutins', restore your Louboutins’, and maintain them.

There are 2 options:

Replace your Louboutin soles with a more durable sole.
Re-paint your Louboutin Soles.

Option 1:

You’ll need Red-Soles home repair pack which consists of Vibram Soles, Red touch up Paint and Leather Glue.
This method certainly has the greater longevity of the two, as it provides a strong, durable alternative to the fragile painted surface of Louboutin soles.
This method is advisable if you wear your Louboutin shoes frequently and outdoors.

REPAIR STEPS:

Place your shoe over the red Vibram sole and lightly draw around the edges - you only want to apply your sole to the BALL of the foot, so you don’t cover the Louboutin logo.
Cut to size (ensure your scissors are nice and sharp to allow for a smooth finish).
Sand down the surface of your battered sole with a light sanding paper, removing any lumps and bumps.
Wipe with a dry cloth, ensuring you remove any dust, hairs and small particles.
Apply your leather glue roughly 0.5cm away from the edges of your battered soles. Then, apply your new Vibram sole by pressing firmly to your shoe. You can use your thumbs to spread evenly, ensuring the glue has spread throughout the whole surface of the sole.
Leave to dry for an hour.
Apply the red touch up paint to any scuffs on the arch of the shoe and the heel stem.
Leave to dry for 20 minutes and then…voila! You have repaired and restored your Christian Louboutins’ back to their original glory - which will last!

Option 2:

This method is more a short term fix, but it can be repeated as and when needed.
The painting method is advisable if you wear your Louboutin shoes only occasionally and not on rough surfaces.

You’ll need, Red Soles Touch Up Paint + Large Brush.

REPAIR STEPS:

Sand down the surface of your battered sole with a light sanding paper, removing any lumps and bumps.
Wipe with a dry cloth, ensuring you remove any dust, hairs and small particles.
Apply your first coat of paint avoiding the Louboutin Logo - you can lightly dab this area with your paintbrush for consistency of colour throughout the sole - but don’t apply liberally as it will sink into the logo. Touch up any scuffs or scratches on the heel stems.
Leave to dry for 20mins.
Apply a second coat.
Leave to dry for 20mins.
You can apply an additional coat or this may be sufficient.
Then, you may go strolling in your repaired Louboutin shoes! Alternatively, for added protection, you can apply Red Soles Protective Soles, try to apply in one smooth application. Our protectors NEVER remove original Louboutin paint, but they may peel some of the Red Soles touch up paint away when removed. For the guidance of how to apply watch HERE.

NOTE: any mistakes with your touch up paint can be washed off with a damp cloth before it dries fully, just be careful not to get paint on material uppers - patent uppers can be washed.
